Visit to the Ungers Archiv für Architekturwissenschaft (UAA) in Cologne, Germany.
This foundation houses the library as well as the entire artistic and intellectual archives of architect Oswald Mathias Ungers (1926–2007) in his original studio-home. He was an influential German architect, theorist and professor, known for his rational and geometric approach to architecture. His works, characterised by elementary forms (square, cube, circle), have left their mark on postmodernism and modern architectural theory.
On the occasion of the centenary of his birth, the Cologne Museum of Applied Arts (MAKK) is dedicating the exhibition “Architecture as Idea” to him, running from 22 May to 27 September 2026.
